Veronica J Harrington March 7 1934 - April 11 2024
Veronica J. Harrington passed away peacefully April 11, 2024 with friends and family at her side. She was loved by her sister Geraldine (Harrington) Brogna and her late brother-in-law, Alexander J. Brogna of Milton MA, and her niece Helen Brogna of Canton MA and her partner Edward Goodwin. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jeremiah, J Harrington, and the late Helen W Harrington of Milton and the beloved sister of the late Helen W Harrington Jr,
Veronica grew up in Dorchester and attended Jeremiah E. Burke high school After graduation, she went to work for the telephone company as a draftswoman creating the schematics and drawings for the layouts of telephone lines in buildings. She quickly became the boss of her all-male team. In 1963 she moved to Milton with her mom, dad, two sisters, brother-in-law, and her niece. Veronica was a rebel in many ways, getting her driver’s license as soon as she could, at a time when most women did not. She bought her first car at a young age and continued her tradition of buying a new white Ford Thunderbird every few years. She traveled with her sister, Helen spending a month in Europe, visiting Las Vegas and Florida and organizing family trips around New England. Veronica was a wonderful artist and created many paintings and drawings over the years. She loved to create whimsical cards for all the holidays. She loved going out for lunch or dinner with the family or having family. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows “Murder She Wrote” and “Monk”. She kept her slim trim figure all her life, never weighting more than 100 lbs despite the fact that her favorite foods Included Devil Dogs, chocolate bars, and McDonald’s hamburgers. She loved all animals but was particularly partial to cats. She took in many stray cats and gave them love and fabulous forever homes. She was a devout Catholic and had tremendous faith in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and our blessed Mother Mary. She celebrated her 90th birthday last month, enjoying great company, family, food, and wine. She will be greatly missed. Visitation in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton, Thursday, April 18th from 10-11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Catholic Church 29 St. Mary’s Road, Milton at 1130. Interment St. Micheal’s Cemetery.
